Steam workshop not downloading mod

It's definitely not Mod Organizer, as I haven't even downloaded that yet. Right now I'm just in the process of downloading all the mods from my last playthrough as compressed files, and I was planning to use the method described here for Workshop mods, but I hit a bit of a snag when I found I can't download them. I have zero mods installed.

This is an ongoing issue present in many games, but I imagine there's something Chucklefish could do to mitigate it. Basically, even with an internet connection, and access to the steam workshop, mods will not download even if they are subscribed to. My main problem was, that there were certain mods I just couldn't find outside of steam workshop, and since I have the GOG version of the game, it annoyed me a bit that there wasn't a way to get those mods, besides getting the game on steam. Luckily I found the mods I wanted, so the problem is solved. Thanks for the help though!

Well i am not on steam beta and the mods i subscribe too do not download so i tried to install them manually in the mods folder etc and they still do not show up when the game starts. Some Steam users that are trying to download mods from Steam’s Workshop are reportedly having problems subscribing to mods. In most cases, the mod is not getting registered for download or don’t appear inside the download queue. I have an issue when I subscribe a mod from Workshop it doesn't initiate the download. If it does initiate it, it shows up in downloads but doesn't progress at all. If I restart Steam the download is gone and nothing happens. I have created 'mod' directory into my /documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings 2/ and I'm sure that I have read and write permissions there as well. Mods from workshop won't download I subscribe a few mods from workshop but they do not want to download. I try reset steam, computer but its did not help. After an hour of searching I finally came across several different threads that all mentioned the mods download through Steam's Download queue. Since I work from home from time to time, I had scheduled Steam to download while I sleep. After subscribing to Workshop items in Steam, the items appear in-game under Steam Workshop, but not under Mods. Therefore, I have no access to the on/off switch for the items and I am fairly certain that they have not been downloaded.

And so far, the most promising result I had was using "workshop_download_item 107410 453577279" where 107410 is the AppID for Arma 3 on steam and 453577279 is the workshop content ID of some random arma 3 mod/addon. (the content ID is the number at the end of the workshop mod URL).
